How things have changed. Gone are most of the seaside baches as they have been replaced by spectacular homes lining the foreshore. The village is renowned for its cafes and boutiques and has become very trendy in recent times. This has been beneficial to property prices with many professional couples moving into the area.

Raumati Beach is well served with schools and pre-schools. Kapiti College in Margaret Road (once known as Raumati District High School) has a large roll of students and has a good academic record. Raumati Beach Schools also has a fine history and is a popular choice for parents.

There are several higher priced homes in Garden Road, Raumati Beach. This area is close to the sea and faces Marine Gardens to the north. Marine Gardens at Raumati is great spot for summer barbecues and picnics. It has a miniature railway, rose gardens and a fun children's play area.
